NewsHeader: The right stylus for capturing signatures

NewsText:
The only hurdle left today for capturing signatures with a smartphone or tablet is the fact that signing with a finger on a smartphone definitely changes the signature graph. (Long fingernails make it even more challenging.) The quality of the captured signature is much better using a traditional signature pad with a pen.

Things are easier in scenarios where sales agents use their own iPad or smartphone to capture the customer’s signature, made possible by equipping these sales agents with special pens, but those pens have to deliver a sufficient quality. Therefore we did a lot of testing to find out which stylus delivers the best results. It was disappointing to find that most of the styluses are not worth their money, and deliver only very immature results and a bad signing experience.

For us the only styluses that we can recommend out of our test set for the time being are:

Wacom Bamboo Pen

Adonit Jot Pro

Applydea Maglus

Kuel H10

Cosmonaut

There are several Android-powered slates, including the Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet, Samsung Galaxy Note and the HTC Flyer, which can be purchased with an active stylus pen.
